| Vale Farm Fishery Longparish - Price Increase Hi all, just been on the phone to Nick Dunford at Vale Farm Fishery, Longparish, Andover, who informs me that due to the rise in VAT, he has had to increase the day ticket prices at the venue. Day Ticket Single Rod - Was £7.00, is now £8.00 Day Ticket Two Rods - Was £8.50, is now £10.00 He went on to say that all three lakes are fishing OK, but after freezing overnight temps, sport can be a little slow at the moment. Tight lines. |

| Re: Vale Farm Fishery Longparish - Price Increase its amazing that 2.5% in Vat that been raised = £1.00 when in fact that the price of the lake should have gone up by 17.5p, i think that alot of people are using this VAT increase as excuse to screw the public. __________________ Born to fish made to work |

| Re: Vale Farm Fishery Longparish - Price Increase Its been that way since decimalization, had the 1/2p worth 2.4 d old money, disposed of that, cause to small/difficult for pensioners. Then when an item went up 1p that was equivalent of 4.8d, but it fueled very fast inflated prices. Same as poll tax/ course fishing licences, start it of small, rod licence 75p (great for improving rivers etc) anglers accepted it, for the benefit of their sport.then the price starts to rise to its present level, now more baliffs chasing anglers for licence, (if you aint got 1 confiscation of tackle or worse) not out chasing illegal fishing practices, target anglers for more revenue from fines. Hesseltine said after poll tax riots, he could do it for less, got it accepted as roof tax, now look at the price you pay for that. Petrol at decimalization was 35p (or 7shillings and 6d ) even today with oil prices dropping, but petrol on the rise again? always an excuse as to why from business. (not really sure the excuses hold water) Car insurance has gone up over 50% this last year, reason young drivers / fiddled insurance claims , seems any excuse to put the price up they do it. been driving 48 years, never had any serious accidents, certainly none in the last 30 years, yet my renewals go up every year. (unreal really)no claims but I, like everybody else, has to pay more Its the same at my local lakes as soon as the closed season on rivers starts the price at the lakes go up ? shucks i'll get me coat. ![]() __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity. |

Due to a new job, I have not done anywhere near as much fishing as I wanted to, so I am now looking forwards to the first frosts, then a Barbel hunting I shall go. |
