Hi Everybody I am new

Hi everybody I am new to this forum and also new to the fishing game and I will hopefully learn a lot from all you guys on here (hopefully), firstly I would like anybody’s advise as to what float rod and reel to purchase for lake and river fishing, don’t want to spend loads (incase I don’t take to fishing) but at the same time don’t want a pile of s**t, can anybody advise me please??

Hello Carpet Man

Why not introduce yourself in the new members section? Plenty on here who would be only too happy to answer your question. It might be an idea to let people know the sort of budget you are thinking of and perhaps the kinds of fish you hope to catch

Hi, The best thing to do is find yourself a good tackle shop in your area, have a word with the shop owner or their staff, explain what style of fishing you want to get into. tell them your budget, remeber its not just the rod and reel you need to think about terminal tackle as as well.

Basic Kit

1 float rod: Price £30 - £40 mark Example Drennan Red Float
http://www.fishingwarehouseshop.co.u...d779c75dfaff42 Or Garbillino waggler Road
http://www.fishingwarehouseshop.co.u...oducts_id/5750

A Reel at around £25.00 mark – Okuma http://www.cheshirefishing.co.uk/sho...uel%20reel.htm

or Diawa

http://www.fishingwarehouseshop.co.u...oducts_id/3860

Landing Net and Handle at around £25.00
http://www.fishingwarehouseshop.co.u...oducts_id/5570

Then you have to think about floats and shot and hooks, line for the reel and that all mounts up.

If you approached your local tackle shop they should be able to help but remember listen to their advice and don’t buy something they don’t recommend like the 6ft tele rod, the guys in the tackle shop have a good amount of experience. And if your not sure on something ask them to explain what they mean.
