Fox attacks my sleeping mate !

A pal of mine who is an avid carp angler woke from his kip in his bivvy after being bitten on the side of his face by a fox ..
will upload a pic in a bit .. nasty bloody wound and a trip to get injections !

Hes in carp talk ive just found out .. he was sleeping up Langford lakes with his bivvy doors open... im on his facebook trying to get the pic

Those bloody things are getting dangerous! They used to be nervous of humans but for some reason they seem to be losing their fear of us.

We do seem to be hearing more and more cases of foxes attacking humans. Mangy little f###kers

thats coz some di*kheads keep hand feeding them.
re,- u,s,a, DON'T FEED THE BEARS.
re,- gibralter, DON'T FEED THE ROCKAPES.
these animals are wild and in the past had a fear of man , hand feed them and they loose that fear,
how many of you have had sea gulls snatch food from you or your kids ?

i in africa were lions wander wild & loose you don't see the locals trying to hand feed them as if they are pets.

as an ex keeper i understand these animals and respect them for what they are- a valued part of the wild english countryside.
but i sure as hell won't go out of my way to get pally with them.

this time of year they are hunting hard to feed cubs and are always looking for an easy meal.

Unfortunatly ,a lot of people do ,and thats the problem ,all the do gooders rescueing wildlife all over the place ,cant be good for the natural balance.

I dont think its a bad thing ,to rescue animals ,in fact i`m the biggest animal lover around ,but it can and is causing problems . The cuddly brood of baby foxes ,rescued ,hand reared and "reintroduced" to the wild ,are dangerous wild animals ,with no fear of human beings ,recipie for disaster as this thread reiterates

S**T thats terrible, hope your mate is ok. could you imagine what damage that could do to your kid if you took them on an overnighter?

hes had all the jabs and reckons most of it was just superficial ... Im not of the understanding that he was simply mistaken for an easy meal as hes easily 6 foot
Yes they get hand fed , and i can see it causing problems with regards to them scavaging but i cant see it's the reason behind, let's be honest , very rare occurences - as Gord points out, usually coinciding with new pups ..I for one think they are great characters and think we should all just get along ..
Most carp anglers smell like the inside of a skip so its probably just a case of mistaken identity
