Hi tim, yeah you can fish the medway in maidstone for carp for free, there is a stretch that is free to fish in the town center, also got some big pike aswell, just need ya rod licence.

Yep in between the to bridges is all free (tis where i live so i know this from talking to all the anglers along there)

yeah im learning as i go havnt realy got anyone to learn from sea/fresh water and the internet is no substitute for experienced advice actually seeing what people are doing so some fishing buddies would be good plus i go with my wife and she is afraid of the cold

I used to fish between Wateringbury and Teeston Lock, but it was a club water. I did get some nice carp, to mid doubles, so the fish are there. If you have a free stretch then go for it.
