| Re: pole elastic and pole fishing Hi You need to check that your pole bushe is the correct size for your chosen elastic. If this is correct then the elastic will require shortening to create more tension. This will allow your elastic to retract back. There are bungs on the market that allow the elastic to be tensioned without cutting the elastic. Ideal when you are the fishing bank. Elastics should also be stretched until it bottoms out before it is fitted to your pole. Stretching the elastic will stop the elastic drooping from the end of the pole after a decent fish. This will save loads of time when you are on the bank. Also ensure that you clean the inside of the pole sections that elastic runs through as over a period of time grit/debris etc...will cake the pole sides. This will ensure the elastic runs smoothly. During each session is also helps if you add some pole/elastic lubricant. Adding lubricant also helps the elastic while playing a decent fish On Youtube there are some good tips on pole elastics.
