Re: Match Fishing Looks good, but could you break down this? Wolverhampton AA, Shropshire Union Canals, Dowty’s/Pendeford, Wolverhampton, Sun. 30. Pete Hatton (ZLT) 5-10-2, roach to 6 oz, poled punched bread and caster, peg 1; Dave Richards (Four Ashes AC) 4-11-0; Kevin Clarke (Cradley Heath Labour) 1-6-0; Pete Chilton (Wood End) 1-0-0; Dave Anderson (Harris MG) 0-11-11; Bill Jones (Bilston Angling Centre) 0-9-15. Are those results? or a fixture? I dont understand lol.

Re: Match Fishing Hi As Nick said, I would advise joining a club. If you are regularly winning club matches then try your luck at the open matches. Fishing open matches is a big step and can be very disheartening. All the best Darrell

Re: Match Fishing I fished many a match when I was younger, even on the club cuirit, there are some very good anglers, and quite a few who spend a lot of money toppig up the pools for the few who are very good. There si nothing like a seasons match fishing to hone your angling skils, as you learn how to fish the swim that you have drawn. Doenside to this philosophy, is that many matches nowadays are held on commmercial fisheries, so less 'peggy', this has its ups and downs. More of an even playing field, and this does give a fairer result. Downside is that a less experienced angler is going to ahve to work harder. Thankfully ther were a few times when I was the less experiecned angler who drew a good peg on a peggy venue, and won, beating about 30 others, not exp as I was 15 at the time. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril
