Recommend a cheap Bivvy?

I currently have a Daiwa Mission Overnighter (this one) which is actually pretty good and the one I'd carry with me at all times anyway.

However there are times when it's not entirely suitable and where a bivvy would be my preferred shelter i.e. in the winter or on very wet and windy days.

Now the first thing I should point out is that I am not a 'Carp fisherman', I don't camp out for days in front of two or more rods on bite alarms whilst laying back on a bed chair, at least not very often. Instead I much prefer to float fish or use a quiver tip rod which means that I'm holding the rod most of the time. As I have the Korum Accessory Chair I also always have the rod 'attached' to the chair by using rod rest accessory, therefore any bivvy/shelter I use must be high enough to allow me to sit in my chair and fish without having to bend my neck to see out.

The main reason I want a bivvy are:

On the colder, wetter, windier days I find that a brolly doesn't really offer as much protection from the elements as I'd ideally like and it's nigh on impossible to keep me and all my gear dry.

The Daiwa Mission Overnighter is by far the best brolly I've ever used but the storm poles tend to get in the way and I find it very hard to comfortably fish two rods (one on an pod/alarm, the other on the float) so I'd like something with a wider front access that doesnt require poles to keep it up.

I'd also like to do a few overnighter sessions in the summer months and get myself a bedchair again (I sold mine ages ago as I never used it) but don't think I'd really be able to fit under the Daiwa with any degree of comfort.

Can anyone recommend something? The main thing is that it has to be high enough to fish from a chair under it. I don't really have a budget but as I would only use it a few times a year I can't afford/justify spending much (ideally under £200 and preferably a lot less - happy to buy second hand).

try looking for a jrc defender brolly system with overwrap its like a bivvy just without the door then if doing an overnighter you can put the wrap on. i have one and it does the job well, doesnt take long to put up either as its a pram hood style. i paid 120 for both bits and just upgraded the pegs to better ones.

When you mentioned the word 'brolly' I thought 'but I've already got a brolly?' Having now googled it, it does look very interesting. I'm confused though as to why this would be classified as a brolly when it looks just like a bivvy?

Are you able to sit under yours for float fishing, i.e. is it high enough to sit on a chair without having to bend your head down to see out of?

Re: Recommend a cheap Bivvy?

i know, its a deceiving name.i've never float fished from it.

it has a strap along the floor that connects to either side of the bivvy which has two height settings and depending on the height of your chair it should be ok on either, the front doesn't come over far its pretty much the height of the bivvy, if that makes any sense, lol.
