Winter Boots

Can anyone recommend a pair of boots that will stop my feet freezing whilst fishing during winter. I currently use a pair of leather hiking boots with thermal insoles and thick socks but my feet start feeling the cold after a couple of hours.

Skeetex do a good pair also scottishandmental just brought a pair of thermals , but i dont think hes tried them out yet

I use Skee-Tex boots which keep my feet as warm as toast on the coldest of days although I have started to prefer sitting in front of a warm fire once it gets too cold these days (it's an age thing ).

Yep, after plenty of research i finally bought a pair of the new Sundridge Hot Foot fisher boots from Veals mail order.. even got the boys to do a price match and paid the paltry sum of 28.99 !!
Persuaded another one of the lads on here to buy a pair previous as he has asked the same question to yours ( Pikehunter /Stu ) ..By all accounts he is delighted with them too

Neoprene flexible upper - neoprene liner - heel wedge - non slip cleated sole - 100% waterproof guaranteed ..

put something under your feet bit of old underlay or something like that, the cold comes from the ground put something between it and your feet

Yeah they are a decent job! Although my first pair leaked, the dirty wee feckers! So had to send them back for replacement. New pair are fine (leak wise). Although I have to say my toes still get cold in them. Thats probably not the boots fault though... I'm a diabetic and circulation to the feet can be a problem at times, especially when I have a pair of tight thermal socks on, followed by a pair of normal socks, followed by a pair of really really thick thermal socks that are tight around the ankle (to keep the heat in). So yeah, I wouldnt blame the boot for my toes getting cold!
