Trip to Throop

After a series of blank or just plain dissapointing sessions on the exe estuary i have decided on a trip to the Stour to revive my spirits. Ive never fished a river like the Stour before and was thinking of targeting the Chub and maybe barbel. Just wondered if anyone had any tips for me, long trotting or ledgering, hemp or pellets, maggots or meat, theres just too many choices!!
