help me experts please... hi lads ,on a recent trip i had the joy of a couple of massive bites then after a very short fight it all went a bit slack and the fish had gone ,the first time i put it down to snagging on roots or weeds etc ,but the second time the fish lead me into the same area before it all went pear shaped, a local told me that there were some massive tree roots on the lake bed and big carp would always head there when caught and in turn would let the line wear out on the rough edges ,he told me about braids ? and how they should be used on the end of the line as to prevent this sort of thing, but can you explain how to use them properly ,thanks

Re: help me experts please... What rigs are you using? If you are just using a normal hair-rig then just tie one using braid and see if that helps...there are a few rigs I wouldn't use braid on though, such as a D-rig...What length are the rigs you are using? __________________ www.thecarpden.co.uk

Re: help me experts please... I'd up your line weight to 15lbs if you are targetting large carp, you should be able to handle good fish with that weight of line. __________________ Blackwater Tackle Supplies Keep Ulster's Waters Healthy, Practice Catch and Release!
