what seat box

hi there i was just wondering if anyone could sparre a few minutes to give me some advice on seat boxes.i am getting back in to fishing and obviously over the course of 20 years i have misslaid or given away most of my gear.i know the rod and reel that i will be purchasing but the one thing i dont know what to buy is a seat box,i used to have a shakespear plastic blue one,(cant remember what they were called but they were quite popular in the early 80's). i have been thinking about this and was thinking about buying a chair also a tackle box but thinking about it i think a seat box would kill two birds with one stone as they say.i will be doing float fishing to begin with with maybe some quiver tipping also, so need space for that sort of tackle.
i often see footballers on a sunday with expensive boots on then when they come on to the pitch they have got two left feet and are shite at the sport.so bearing this inmind i dont really want to have all the best tackle and make my self look like bob nudd when clearly i aint ,but want some sort of tackle that would be benificial to my standards.
any advice would be much appreciated.
cheers. the ratman.

Re: what seat box

Hi

After years of fishing from a box I now struggle with my back, I would recommend purchasing a chair with adjustable legs, Korum do one which accessories such as side tray, rod rest etc...can be added. A decent tackle bag will take the bait and tackle

If you do intend to get a box I would go to a tackle shop and try them out, I purchased a box around four years ago on the spur of the moment only to be disapointed at the weight of the thing. What ever box you get make sure it has adjustable legs, allowing the box to be sett level

Re: what seat box

if you get a seat box, then see if there is a wheel kit available in the accessory options, failing that, a pull along trolley for it will help your back in the long term. also lets you dump other kit onto the box, so less to carry, especially if you've got a long walk from car to peg.
there are plenty of good quality boxes on the market, best going for the decent names such as maver, preston diawa etc, try to avoid the ones being sold where the basic basic box rrp is £400, but is being sold with all the options for £150 ... most on here know which brand i'm talking about lol
also worth looking through the tackle reviews section on here, you'll find them for both seatboxes & seats
