| Advice on river fishing in France Hi all,I'm fishing on the River Mayenne in France next June and wondered if anyone can advise me on best methods and baits. It is a wide stretch with a big weir/loch a little upstream from where I will be fishing.I believe that there could be Catfish,Barbel, big Carp,Pike....not sure if Bream and Chub are present.Would like to fish for any or all of these.Someone has told me stick to natural baits such as maggots rather than boilies for the Barbel and Carp etc, would appreciate any advice you can give. |

| Re: Advice on river fishing in France i fish the Garonne , i normally use big baits boilies up to 50mm but not under 25 mm, i use maize as my main particle attractor as its cheap with lots of pigeon cond in.this i pile in over 1x 25 mtr area , it need to be be quite a heavy carpet of bait due to the barges that travel down most rivers and the wash they make Maggots are very hard to buy in France in bulk so you will have to take them over you want rock hard baits to stop the nuisance fish |
