haven's golden sands, mablethorpe

hi all,
the family asp & extended family are spending a week at haven's golden sands at mablethorpe, lincolnshire at the end of the month.
they've got fishing lakes on the site for a little extra charge, so am going to give them a call tomorrow to find out what they've got in them, how much extra it is to fish there & if there's an onsite tackle shop, will try to see if there's a baliff or fishery office i can contact too.
just tried yell.com to see if there are any tackle shops in mablethorpe, but closest it's listing is in lincoln, does anyone know if there's anything closer to mablethorpe itself or has fished at the holiday park?
am hoping to teach my 3yr old to fish & think would be easier if we had maggotts, will take other baits too, but for obvious reasons, will want to get maggotts preferably on the day
thanks guys & gals

M-T you beat me to it. I don't know about the venue but was gonna point out ingolmells for the tackle shop.
Just down the road from mablethorpe is Oham lakes. (only 10 minute drive out of town) see website. http://www.fisheries.co.uk/oham/index.htm

not fished it but sounds nice.

Hello

Get your bait from Grange farm holiday park or Oham Lakes. Both places are about 2-3 miles from Golden Sands on the road to Louth.
If you want a good days fishing, get yourselves to Oham Lakes, you have 3 ponds to choose from on a day ticket. The owners are very friendly and will give you all the help you need. I take my grandchildren there when the come to stay. They will not charge for under 12s. Day tickets 5-00 adult 3-50 Oaps and children 12-16.
The waters have a good variety of fish, from double figure carp down. Tackle shop on site together with cafe and toilets etc

Re: haven's golden sands, mablethorpe

hi guys, thanks for the other feedback since my last post. confession time ... mrs asps uncle met up with us & we all went to ingoldmels for a wander round the market & popped into used tackle (very relunctantly & knowing i'd have to confess my sins on here sooner or later) got 10 pole rigs for £10 & pole roller for £10 ... thought as i', starting out with trying pole fishing, £10 wasn't too much to spend & as only aiming to target silvers to begin with, i think they'd be ok. didn't bother with maggotts in the end, 1st look at the lakes, showed them to be quite small, but as my fishing report to follow will show, they're better than they look.
