| EA at it again !!! Shock and horror the EA bailiffs are out in my local area, Speaking to my nephew last night about going fishing this weekend, he spoke of two of his friends at work who decided to go fishing, and got checked they admitted straight away they didn't have licence and did say they thought about doing a runner but the clever EA bailiff had his oppo waiting by the parked cars just in case. So looks like an easy 5k for the EA ![]() |

Normally you hear lots of anglers moaning because they never see a bailif checking licences on the bank and then these same anglers are whinging because they got caught without a licence. I do have some sympathy for them if they were just kids but hopefully it is a lesson they won't forget for a while. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |

| Re: EA at it again !!! I don't think that kids under 18 should have to pay for a rod licence! We continually moan about kids hanging around street corners etc. I would love to see more kids get into fishing, especially if it keeps them off the streets. How many kids can afford a rod licence and how many parents want to fork out for one, just to see if there kid might take up fishing? Give them a chance to try it out without having to shell out. an 18 year old is not a kid, he/she is a young adult. If you said kids below 16 then I would agree, and maybe have cheaper rod licences for under 18's. One of my clubs have a couple of open days each year where the members introduce young people (and adults) to angling on our local lake, all tackle and bait is supplied on the day together with good tuition where needed and a barbequeue. Its a shame that more clubs don't do the same. we even got the mayor to dish out trophies last year and got it posted in the local rag. __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now) |
