Recommended Locations in Southampton/Wichester/Portsmouth Area

Hi All,

Fairly new to fishing and am looking for some new places to try that are available either free or on a sensible priced day ticket (sub £20 a day).

I live in Warsash which is between Southampton and Portsmouth so anything in that general area.

So far ive been to Funtley pond and ive been several times to Newlands Farm/Lakes.

Ive had reasonable sucess catching some nice carp at newlands but am keen to try a differentl location in the area and would like to catch something of a reasonable size other than carp, or just somewhere else to catch carp.

I would quite like to find a river or something to fish from as a change to a lake but am struggling to find other places.

I know there is a small carp fisherie which I think may be called carrow row? in my area which is in someones back garden which is meant to be fairly good. I also know that Portsmouth DAS have another lake available on day ticket that im considering trying but was wondering if there is anything else around as well??

Many thanks,
Mark

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply, looks like I need to sign up to be a member of their forum before I can see their posts although it looks like they have a whole section for day ticket lakes so I will have to join up and take a look. Any personal fav's you can recommend?

Cheers,
Mark

Re: Recommended Locations in Southampton/Wichester/Portsmouth Area

When I used to live in Fareham I used to go fishing at Dryad Lake near Portsmouth which is a well known good fishery or the river Avon around Christchurch and the river Stour at Throop Mill?, there are quite a few anglers on this forum that live in your area and can put you onto these waters if you have transport.
Hopefully they will come onto this post and help you.
