What is the best time of day to go fishing

Hi
can anyone tell me the best time of day I can find fish in the water
Some say first thing at morning and last at night but am unsure
And other say when the moons out but this makes no sense to me

any time for me as long as it aint too bright , much better with a bit of cloud cover

Dose that mean when its dark would be better LOL
I was told that fish hide in shadows like trees and rocks so maybe when its dull they will come out

That was certainly true when on my reconnaissance trip yesterday to the parish pond. There is a large tree at one side of the lake (far side in the pic) that was casting a large shadow over one side of the pond. There were noticably more eddys & swirls in this shadow.

Mind you if you asked which season !i would answer winter as all the noddies are tucked up at home .

best time of day is the hours you are awake.

Also could depend on what your fishing for too.
