First Time Out In 15 Years

Looks like I'll be heading out on Saturday for the first time in 15 years.
Going to try either St Georges Park Lake (Eastville) and the Frome alongside it or Brimsham Park in Yate.

I'll start with what I know best, some float fishing for general coarse, then I'll perhaps have a pop at some Carp later in the day.

So today is the day. Knocking off at about 1:30pm then off to Brimsham Park Lake in Yate, should get me 6hrs or so fishing time before dark.

Going to pop some Trout pellets down first, set up, then try maggot on the float then ledger with some drilled trout pellet, corn & pepperami.

Pretty much. But how good it is remains to be seen, as I say, no fising in 15years!!

Well, it was a day for a MASSIVE carp (for the chap across the lake from me).

All I managed was 5 of these blighters (from this size to about 50% larger) on a 16 hook with single maggot on a waggler at about 2' depth. To be fair, my landing net & unhooking mat didn't arrive in the post so just as well I didn't hook into a monster.
Can anyboy tell me what it is, my fish ID skills are V Poor at the moment.

Sweetcorn gave diddly squat.

Better than blanking though.

Going back on Saturday to ledger some corn & Spam.
