What Coarse Gear Do I NEED.

OK, so I have a couple of nice rods & reels, split shot, a selection of hooks (size 8 & smaller), masses of floats & a comfy chair (very important), landing net, unhooking mat.

I have on my shopping list.....

4lb & 10lb line
Preist (in case things go wrong for some poor fishy)
EA Rod Licence

Is there anything I am missing?

Re: What Coarse Gear Do I NEED.

General fishing bits-n-pieces:
  • Catapult for firing out loosefeed or groundbait accurately.
  • Rod rests
  • Disgorger
  • Scissors or nail clippers for trimmimg line on knots & hooks etc.
If you are going to leger:
  • A packet of running leger link beads/clips (Beads with snapclips attached)
  • Small ledger weights
  • Packet of ledger stops
  • maybe a couple of feeders
  • baiting needle & hair stops
  • Maybe a small leger bobbin to hang on the line between reel and first ring to show bites (if you are not using a quivertip rod)

Re: What Coarse Gear Do I NEED.

It's a needle that you use to bait up a hair rig with.

see link --> Hair Rig

Ah I see, make sense now thanks.

On the subject of hair rigs, how do to attach a weight to them?

Re: What Coarse Gear Do I NEED.

You don't, a hair rig is just a method of presenting your bait on the hook see link -> Hair Rig

Heres the simple leger rigs that I normally use :

Re: What Coarse Gear Do I NEED.

Nice one, I was assuiming you run it as a ledgering setup, but thought I was being over simplistic. Thanks.
