want to get a bream out of me canal

i have caught carp tench,perch,rudd,roach out of me canal i just need to get a bream and a pike now.many years ago there was big bream in there and wasnt so hard to catch but these days u never really see em come out is rare and a shame really would like some tips on how to catch em and hopefully will bag one any suggestions are welcome thanks

You need to find their patrol routes, I believe Bream to be creatures of habit, find where they are and then regularly bait an area. The larger the Bream get the more wiser they are. night fishing will increase your chances as well

I fished the river Stour in Dedham 10 years or so ago after hearing about the Bream, I was told they where impossible to catch so I night fished it and had seven big Bream on my first visit

Check out the local match results if there are any held there, local knowledge will help, either from the tackle shop or other anglers

Look for wider/deeper areas of the canal. If the clarity of the water is clear look for areas that are coloured, this could indicate feeding fish,

If info is limited bait up several likely looking areas over a period of a week or so and the try them until you find the shoals
