Coarse Fishing in Loch Lomond

Does anybody have any tips or info about coarse fishing in Loch Lomond.
Reading through some websites it appears that this is a largly untapped area for coarse fishing due to the fact most fishermen are after trout and salmon and generally ignore coarse fish.
That being said its a huge water and I would appreciate and advice anyone may have.

We are hoping to fish from both a boat and the bank. Not to interested in the Pike as I will be fishing with some friends with limited experience and I cant be with them all the time.
