Baits - How long do they keep?

I'm a big fan of the Sonubaits range of hookable pellets and these come in resealable pouches as do certain baits by other manufacturers such as Tiger Nuts, soft pellets, various particle baits etc and then you have those large bottles of particle baits that are in liquid, some flavoured some not or just kept moist like cooked hemp.

I know that tins of hemp will dry out but does anyone know how long things like soft/hookable pellets, Tiger Nuts and other particle baits will last once open? I normally buy a pack of Sonubaits 8mm or 11mm Hali-Hookers which I use on a hair rig but then use 'normal' (dry) pellets as loose bait. I'd rarely if ever get through an entire pouch in a session and so stuff the resealed pack back in my bag for the next session which may not be for two weeks. When I re-open the pouch I can't really tell any difference, they still ooze oil when squeezed and smell pretty much the same but I never feel that confident in using them for fear that they had 'gone off' and I couldn't tell but the fish could.

Re: Baits - How long do they keep?

tiger nuts last for ever ,just keep them in a bucket covered in water ,
i have some that have been covered for months , they go sticky and a bit smelly ( well the water does ,but this does not effect their useage ,

Pellets will keep for about 12 months if kept in a air tight container
