Re: hassocks fishing club?

Ahh a fellow Worthinger.

I used to be a member of Petworth Angling Society but really only for one lake, Moor Farm, which they lost and the end of last year. Because of that I didn't see the point in re-joining and apparently they lost a lot of member over it which is a shame because it is actually a very good club and well run.

I'm not a member of Hassocks but I did consider it when looking for a replacement for PAS and did a bit of asking around amongst other anglers and tackle shops. I heard some good things about the club and it's waters and nobody really said anything bad about it. The only real reasons I didn't join was partly that personally a couple of their lakes didn't massively appeal to me but mainly because I heard more good things about other clubs and in particular the Petworth and Bognor Angling Club www.sussexangling.co.uk.

I joined this club at the start of the season and am delighted I did. Their waters are excellent with a couple very close to Worthing. One of my favourites is just past Arundel (about a 20-25 min drive from where I am in Tarring) and where I'm going on Saturday.

Is it better than Hassocks? I can't honestly say having not fished both, from what I've heard Hassocks is good just that I heard more good things about my club. Have a chat with the guys in Arun Angling in Angmering.

Re: hassocks fishing club?

nice one mate!
had a look at that club, some good looking waters ther!
so gana settle for hassocks and pulborough
main reason im joining a club as apose to a syndicate is that i want to get
a bit of fishing in with the old man and he dont get about so well thes days,
and they have plenty of access, and this club offers a nice balance, got a few speci lakes for me and loads for dad to fish with his gran kids!
plus i cant remember the last time i cought a "real" crucian carp or rudd!
plus some very pikey looking stretches up the adur and arun for the winter.
think im gana go with it! nice one bruva!
