Net sterilisation?? A conversation on the bakn with the owner of a small fishery turned to keep virus's and stuff out of waters, I asked what he used in his dips, and it was something sold for koi users, but in the resulting conversation he mentioned that several fishery owners had the idea of a high salt concentration dip might work, it would be likely to kill of most things. Curious to what people may think of this. I use UV light, but some don't have the oppertunity to do this, or the space, security. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril

Re: Net sterilisation?? Same here, but some folks can't do that, either they don't have a garden, or, and there is a slight security risk, letting a potential burgler know there is a load of tackle on the property. __________________ Ignore the margins at your peril

Re: Net sterilisation?? Bacteria need moisture and warmth to multiply and potentially cause problems so I would say drying your net immediately after use is the best bet, Also diluted house hold disinfectant should do the trick (as long as its eco friendly) if you dont have the space to hang it up.

Re: Net sterilisation?? Drying your net when you get home is the best way to stop bacteria in their tracks, they need both moisture and warmth to multiply, no need for boiling, just an occasional wash will keep it disease free. Pete

Re: Net sterilisation?? Yep,out on the line and in the sun does it for me. I also lay out my unhooking mat too. How many people forget them ? Not that I need it that often other than as a seat ;) __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk

Re: Net sterilisation?? theres some new nets that came out last year when you pull them out the water they are already 98% dry they arnt made from rubber either there like any ordinary net. Because they dry instantly the bacteria and diseases die.
