Help Advice Needed For Brown Trout Fishing

Hi all 1st post please be gentle


Im new to fishing and im going to Wales camping , were going to this specific place

I will take my rod with me to have a little try and the fella from the place reckons its only Brown Trout we can fish for till June 16th ???

Is that the case ? if so what size hooks/bait is the best to use ?

Welcome to the forum,

Trout arent my area of speciality by any stretch of the imagination! but i will do my best...

You can choose to fish for them in a number of ways, on the fly, spinning and of course bait fishing...

hi,
i usualy fish at the lakes covered by the cambrian licence up in blaenau. a few miles to the north of bala. you can fish for brownies with any thing realy maggots and worms usually on size 10/12 hooks. use some coloured polersteiring balls to give them boyency or fish them under a bubble. where about in bala are you fishing? the lake there has some weird landlocked freshwater herring in it, not shure if your allowed to fish for them but they fight like hell ive been told.
