Question Angling Clubs

Can anyone tell me what the benifits are from joining a club?
Thinking of joining the Salisbury one, if there is any members of SAA out there any info would be of help.

Re: Angaling Clubs

Well, you get to know lots of like minded people and if the club has their own waters you get to fish them.

Re: Angaling Clubs

Im a member of warminster club.
The benifits are can fish 2 lakes and a river for £35 ayear and £1 for a night with a max of 5 others per a night. The clubs small so lakes are never busy most week days get the lake to myself. We also have exchange tickets with 6 other local clubs so get to fish there water for free. All the members are friendly and there to help. The club is well run with some great water.

Re: Angaling Clubs

Have been a member of four clubs. Glamorgan Anglers, Birmigham Anglers, Bathampton and Bristol and Bath (though I think it's amalgamated now).

All were excellent value for money and you meet like minded individuals.

£30 a year for BAA and hundreds if not thousands of swims on loads of river stretchs , some lakes and canals too even if it's not commerical stocking levels , still great value for money.

If I still lived in Cardiff then Glamorgan offer excellent fisheries too.

Belonging to a good club is far better than having to fish day ticket waters, especially if you fish regularly.
I belong to two clubs, one club which gives me well over 20 different waters to fish, some of which hold near record nudging fish, for less than £70 per year, plus regular social events, fishins, matches and specialist instruction sessions on catching different species & using different methods. all in a secure friendly environment.

The other club I belong to costs around £50 per season to fish but only has the one lake, however it is a really beautiful secluded estate lake with quality Tench, Rudd, Roach, Crucians, Carp and a sprinkling of large Catfish. where I can fish in complete peace & quiet because of its location and small invited membership.

NB. I can't remember the last time I had to fish a day ticket water other than when I was on holiday.
