yeah mate cant wait i am there for a week so i will target the lonsdale lake for carp and later in the week i will fish red meere to target the big catfish

Hi Paddy I saw your post so registered to reply. Me and my husband and 6 friends are also going to Lonsdale on 26th June for 2 glorious weeks and are also from Cheshire (Crewe). This is our 8th year of going and can't wait we absolutley love it. This fishing is superb and I cant fault the accomodation at all. But above all it is the peaceful and relaxed friendly atmosphere. See you there you wont be disappointed ( a 30lb came out last week) Check out the web site I am the strange looking woman on the front page holding the 8 1/2lb tench.

You can catch them on any of the popular baits nothing seems to be favoured although they do like sweetcorn and luncheon meat. Boilies,and worm are good no particular brand but source seems to be popular.As for the approach float fishing in the margins has been very successful for us and produced some 20lb + fish and my mate had a 28lb out of Reed mere feeder fishing on buzzers. we have tried everything and caught fish each time so just do what you like at the end of the day it really depends on the mood of the fish there every day it fishes differently.
