| Fishing near Thwaite, Richmond, N Yorkshire First of all - Hello to everyone. I've just got back into fishing after a 6 year break. Came across this site and thought I'd join as it looks full of advice, info and friendly anglers. I went fishing last Sunday for the first time and caught 16 roach on bread punch. I live in N Wales and need some advice on where to fish near Thwaite, Richmond, N Yorkshire. As I'm going there for a week in April. I'm looking to pole fish for carp. Any suggestions?     |

The only time I ever fished near Richmond, Yorkshire was in January 1977 when I did my resettlement course from the Royal Navy so unfortunately I can't really be of much help to you but I thought I would welcome you to the forum. However I did catch some superb Grayling (one of my favourite fish) on the River Swale at Richmond using Bronze Maggots, I also remember catching some superb Roach/Dace/Chub on BreadFlake from the Swale. I don't remember seeing a Pole being used there though. Good luck and tight lines.
