Fishing with worm Earlier on in the week, I went fishing at the River Culm, near Stoke Canon which is right on my doorstep. I travelled light with just a feeder rod and some tackle. I took some luncheon meat and about a dozen worms. Roamed up and down the river for about 6 hours and all my luck came on worm. Caught some nice Chub and a couple of nice sized Dace - 8 oz approx. Obviously I hooked the worm through the membrane which is correct? I found myself striking too often due to fish biting on the end of the worms. Is there a better technique for fishing with worm? Perhaps double hooking the worm? Use smaller worms so the fish take them whole? Any advice appreciated!

Re: Fishing with worm when i'm fishin with a worm i would put the hook through it 3 times, top middle and somewhere near bottom, still leaving enough for it to wiggle __________________ Fishing for a lifetime, not a past-time.

Re: Fishing with worm try cutting the worm up into pieces it will still riggle and give you more bait

Re: Fishing with worm Worm sections are certainly a good bait, they leak out juices which give you a scent trail, even better on moving water. Experiment and see what the fish like the best. Lob tails make a great perch bait, as well as chub, which eat most things and roach too

Re: Fishing with worm I agree, to chop the worm, or try injecting with air, it makes them pop up from off the bottom of the lake. Easier for the fish to take though.

Re: Fishing with worm Roaming the bank is a great way to fish, I do the same on my local river the Great Eau. Tight lines Rob
