After coming into work this morning & finding 2 Poles gloating about their fishing experience. I asked how they had got on to be shown a picture of a pound & a 1/2 perch on a draining board I was p*ssed as you can imagine!They didn't even have any idea they'd even done anything wrong....
Sorry to sound like this but these people need to be educated that this is not the way we do it in this country & signs need to be placed @ strategic places on ALL fisheries I believe in all eastern European languagues to to effect of 'Fish theft is a crime you WILL be prosecuted if caught!' if you believe this is the case as I do please sign this petition -> Stop Fish Theft

Dont want to turn this into a witch hunt more about educating people than anything, but I saw red when I saw this also the fact that one of our most popular rivers down here was netted AGAIN the other day, this needs to STOP NOW....otherwise we lose everything & there will be no next generation of river anglers......

Brilliant cheers mate You can imagine how I felt when I saw that picture I had a right go...lost my cool & told them they could expect a £2500 fine for fish poaching & probably a £2500 fine for fishing without a license & if I caught them again i'd turn them in myself if I saw themon the riverbank. They were totally oblivious to the fact they'd done anything wrong maybe this is normal in Poland where they have no fish in their rivers I dont know???I tried to explain what happens if 4 million anglers ALL take fish out of our rivers what they thought would happen to our rivers?they didn't have an answer....
Education has to be the key here I think then prosecution not the other way round.

Education has to be the key here I think then prosecution not the other way round.

If they havent got licences then they will get prosecuted,if they are on a stretch of river with free fishing,then i think they can take 2 fish per day home with them of any species of coarse fish,they would obviously need a licence.

All I can say to that mate & i'm not being nasty is wait till it happens to your stretch of river its not so funny then believe me....

i live near the river trent and ive seen people chucking big nets in there and pulling out as many fish as they like

I am going to sign it and i dont find it funny,i have an old friend who owns a small coarse fisheries and he literally worrys himself to death over certain people poaching his fish!!!!
