Question Bigger Fishes Wanted

Hi. I have recently started fishing canals, after advice from my local tackle shop. Canal fishing is good, as you are guaranteed to catch. The biggest fish that I have caught in the canal is a 1.25lbs (approx.) Perch. Although this was a good fish, I have seen people catch even bigger chub, carp, bream etc. in canals. Please can you tell me about the techniques/bait involved to catch these type of fish. Thank you, Tight Lines!!!

Re: Bigger Fishes Wanted

If you want bream try using your float rod with a plummet (dont know what rod you use now?) but try to find where the ledge or the drop off is & fish on the bottom of this ledge using a feeder with groundbait, I've personally found that bream love either worms or red maggots but whatever you choose you need to find feature on your canal & fish to them I found.
