Smile Coming back to fishing - Newbee

My names Joe, im 22 from Cardiff and looking at getting back into fishing, wondered if you could answear a few Q's for me so i can go out kind of prepared for a season.

Only really interested in Float and Feeder for Roach, Bream etc etc , not into the big carp and such. Had to buy all new kit, as when i moved out my mum threw it all away, lol.

so far ive baught the following -

Abu transmitter 13 foot feeder rod
Abu esprit match / float rod again, 13 foot
2no Abu Garcia Ultracast 4000 reels
Abu 28inch match landing net and telescopic 3 metre handle.
Range of barbless hooks, loaded, plain wagglers, catapults, bait boxes, AI tackle bag / box, shots, plummetts etc

First of all just wondered if i baught half decent kit to get back into fishing with ??

And then i have the following queries -

Which size mainline should i use and do i need to use smaller hook lengths is there a paticular brand i should stick too ?

Can someone list the essentials for full days fisihing so i dont leave home without anything?

Reccomend some floats / wagglers / feeders Reccomend me a cheapish chair, as ive spent out and cant afford a box yet , ( or keep net, or nice pair of trousers or boots )

Thanks.

A few answers to start with....
4-6lb main line should be plenty strong enough to land roach, bream and even carp should you hook in to one.
I always use a smaller hooklength than mainline, this way if you do get snagged or snapped by a big fish you only lose a hook not the full rig, also a fish will get rid of a hook on its own quicker than trailing round a swimfeeder aswel.
Dont leave home with out a discorger, i find roach tend to swallow the hook alot!
I like the team daiwa rubber keepnet, drys out quickly, fish friendly mesh and long enough to hold a good few fish.

hope this helps
rob

Re: Coming back to fishing - Newbee

yeh your tackle sounds ok just start off cheap and upgrade when you can afford it ,one of the most important things in my tackle box are hooks to nylon they save so much time tying leaders and hooks i wont leave home without them and a quick tip glue a peice of cork to your disgorger this way if you drop it it wont sink as i have done countless times ,with the hooks to nylon buy a breaking strain half of what your mainline has with either a size 16 or 18 hook any more questions just pm me tight lines
