help on the bristol avon or chew

Im working in bristol this week and every evening i want to go fishing for chub/barbel or anything that will pull my quiver round. So if someone can point me towards a good place? a good weir? where to get the dayticket from would be gratefully appreciated

Re: help on the bristol avon or chew

Hi
At the moment the river is a bit high and mucky. The weir at Saltford is probably a good bet as there is a small beck that runs into it.Just let either a pole float or stick float trot down the beck into the mouth of the weir and you should pick up chub, roach, perch and skimmers.Carp also hang around this inlet so be careful. Its also free fishing.
Good luck mate.
