| Help with Sandy Balls please! I'm off to 'Sandy Balls' near Fordingbridge in the New Forest on a family holiday in a couple of weeks and I have never fished the Avon around there before. I haven't even seen the Sandy Balls stretch of river. Its not primarilly a fishing holiday but I have negotiated with the family and will be spending most mornings fishing from first light till mid morning, thats approx 4 to 5 hours per day so Im really looking forward to it. Can anyone give me a few ideas of where I should concentrate for Chub, Barbel or perhaps some nice quality Roach?, or would I be better off elsewhere locally? Is the sandy Balls stretch any good? NB. Im limited to 2 rods so I was thinking of taking my Greys Prodigy Barbel rod and also a Drennan MKIV Tench Float rod with a pin for trotting.
