Do you stick to one type of fishing? I'm taking up fishing again, having previously done coarse and sea fishing in the past. I also wouldn't mind trying my hand at fly fishing. Do you stick to one type or dabble in all of them?

Re: Do you stick to one type of fishing? I'm definately an all rounder. If I find some water that contains fish. i'll try & catch em. Much to the wife's disgust ![]() __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: Do you stick to one type of fishing? I try to be an all rounder, but I don't get to the sea enough. If you stick to one disapline, then within that stay with the same speices, i.e carp or barbel, then you run a pretty good chance of becomming stale. By changing target fish and veunes as much as possible, every fishing trip becomes more exiting. For example, I'm waiting for my pal JP to pick me up. We are heading to the Avon upstream of Chippenham. Its a new venue, whilst we would both like to be catching barble, we agreed on the phone that othing would be nicer than watchinga float trot down a smooth glide or two. I'll also be playing with a quiver-tip, in the hope of a nice perch. I've packed a fly rod too, as when I went on a recce trip, I could see several chub taking flies off the surface. Soon I plan on spinning from the rocks on the Dorset coast. I will try for abig carp at Crockerton Lake later this summer. I plan on Joining some others for a Cat session later on as well What I am saying is the more you change, the more you get out of your sport. If you are re-equiping, then a rod which has several purposes would be good, you can float fish with the quiver section of some avon rods.
