| Budget for fishing gear? I've decided to take up coarse fishing, after about 20 odd years not doing any. So, I have decided to buy some new kit to get started. I think I will have a budget of about £800 to get the following:
Do you think this sounds realistic? I don't want to get cheap stuff or really expensive stuff, but do want it to last. Can you think of anything else I will need to get started (apart from rod license and bait)? Also, last question honest, where is the best fishing tackle shop in the NE? or is it a better option to get stuff online? Thanks for any advice. |

| Re: Budget for fishing gear? you can get your set up for half that my advice would be to go to a big tackle shop and get a package deal rods, reels, line ,rod rest ,chair, keep, net, landin net,and umbrella ive seen these for about 300 quid and its decent gear them use the other 100 quid for hooks shot ect ect dont forget to buy disgorger and get some hooks to nylon (pre tied leaders with hooks already on)they make life so much easier and quiker when riggin up and as for the rod if you want a second rod try a john wilson ledger rod you can pick em up for 30 quid they are really good all round rods i use mine for carping ,piking, and course. |
