| Fishink breaks in Yorkshire. For the last 2 years my dad, brother and myself have spent a long weekend at Lakeside lodge in York.Although it is lovely there the fishing is not good and we are looking for somewhere new for next year.We want a place with a lodge, local shops nearby, pub nearby (that does evening meals) and at least one lake.My brother and I are fishing for Carp and my Dad is fishing for silver fish (with the occasional rod bender). If anyone has any recommendations or links I would really appreciate it,thanks. |

| Re: Fishink breaks in Yorkshire. Hayfield Lakes between Doncaster and Bawtry has a campsite for both tents and caravans at around a fiver a night to pitch. I'm not sure whether this type of "accomodation" is to your taste but you will be literally seconds from one of the most prolific trio of lakes around these parts, I know it has hosted fishomania one of the richest fishing competitions going, not sure if it still does someone may tell you on here.. There is a pub / restaurant on site, I've eaten there myself and it's decent quality and friendly. I don't know if they accomodate in the pub but maybe they can recommend someone to you in the trade. Oh and Doncaster Asda is literally 10 minutes in the car from there and town centre a further 10 minutes or so if you fancy the notorious Donny night out they come from miles around to drink in Donny. Hope this helps. |
