Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area) Evening Lads my name is Damon and its my first post on here. I'm a local lad and have been fishing the Carp Pond also known as The School of Infantry for about 25years now so I'm interested to read about your comments regarding its ownership and fate. I spoke to a local landowner today and was reassured that there is no way on this earth that it will be filled in due to the fact it is part of the natural water course/table and that planning permission was refused. So you can hang back with those nets lads and delete the environment agency from your speed dials. On a serious note the amount of rubbish down there is getting beyond a joke, there is a problem with fly tippers which to be honest we can do nothing about, but there is also a lot of fishing related rubbish down there ie boiley bags tins of sweetcorn luncheon meat i could go on and on. There are a lot of us still fishing this lake free of charge so could i ask that when we do we pick up any rubbish we see and together maybe we can make a small improvement. P.S If anybody has a van there is a bloody great TV that somebody has dumped in the Willow swim, be great if somebody could get rid of it before some idiot throws it in. Cheers Damon

Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area) Hello Damon, welcome to the forum. It would be nice if a club could take it on again but it would need a serious amount of work. It wouldn't be so bad if the area could be fenced off to discourage fly tippers. __________________ Born to fish made to work

Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area) Thanks for the welcome Steve. Local Highways Agency will not allow a fence due to its close proximity to the road, i remember the club looked into it many years ago, and the hassle Bruce the owner of Frogmore had to go through to put up a fence was unreal and costly. Rubbish at the lake has always been a concern but it has been managed by ourselves the members, i suppose it was always going to happen the moment the club lost the water. Fingers crossed we the few that continue to fish it can keep it looking tidy. Damon
