Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area)

So is penleigh any good?

Took another trip to cuckoos rest sunday just gone. Had 4lb mixed bag from the small lake, mainly small roach but I did get my 1st gudgeon and a pb roach of 1lb. All taken on crystal waggler with maggs and caster.

Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area)

Hello I am Clive, first post on here and I fish the carp pool at Westbury occasionally, as for the carp pool at Westbury do not I repeat do not remove and relocate the fish. Its illegal and if disease spreads to another lake you could ruin someone else's fishing. I am personally going to keep an eye out for any planning applications (as I work around the corner) and I would imagine that they will not be allowed to fill it without an ecological study being done first. If they ever get permission to fill it I will try to get the fish netted and removed with help form the environment agency.

I have been told that they have been refused permission for building. But since Painters bought the lake and sold it on the new land owner wants nothing to do with fishing. If you are fishing the lake are you being charged by the new land owner or is he just allowing people to fish? I just wondered because it would be a shame to see a lake like the Carp Pond go to rack and ruin as far as i am aware people are now using it as a dumping ground for their rubbish, i was told when the lake was frozen there was an old washing machine on top of the Ice! this can not not be good ofr the lake or the fish.

Steve

A dumping ground indeed! I hate the scum who do that kind of fly tipping but its been happening around there for years. Crazy really with the upshot of recycling centres.
