Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area)

I only spent ac ouple of hours there from 07.30 - 10.30 with a couple of dead baits out - not a sniff. I was speaking to somone else fishing there and apparently live bait is the way to switch the pike on in that pond. Hey ho I am not counting it as a whole trip so now the stats are as follows - 3.5 trips and no pike! still better than watching telly!

Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area)

Hi all, 1st time posting here for me. Bit out of order filling the carp pond in without removing the fish. Net them up, check them for disease then a quick trip up the road to the boating lake (the MOD lake has enough biggies). Sorted.

Has anyone fished painters recently? I fished there about 10 years ago and recently heard it was pretty good since it was taken over by a syndicate.

And if anyone cares, fished Cukoos rest last saturday and had a few small roach, a nice bream and a 10lb carp.

Re: Local lakes (wiltshire ish area)

Is it worth the 300 notes. If the fishing amazing and you get a say on how the lake is run then i could be tempted.
