hi all quick question hi guys im new to the forum. my names alec im 23 and live in copthorne near gatwick. I have been fishing (when time allows) for about 7 months. Mainly quiver tip fishing and lake, i have also been spinning on the avon for pike. I have a question though which is as followed: A guy that i used to fish with a had a hardy fishing rod that was short about 9ft or something, It was just a normal tip but you could screw in a quiver tip for quiver tip fishing. He used this without a quiver tip in the end for spinning. Could this also be used for float fishing? what i want to know is what this type of rod is called? What should i be searching for? I dont want to buy a hardy's one but something similar rod but cheaper :) Does anyone have one that they can recommend? The local lake i go to is very over grown being new i want something small when i go spinning but i also want to be able to feeder fish with it. I dont have much room for leaving all my gear. Many thanks

Re: hi all quick question hi alec, sorry, but not familiar with that rod, but before my break from fishing, i always used a feeder rod for spinning untill i'd saved up enough for a proper spinning rod. i'm sure someone on here will be able to steer you in the right direction, or failing that, try either the tackle shop in east grinstead or frosts in crawley. which lakes do you fish? i've only been doing tilgate since restarting last year. __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk

Re: hi all quick question The rod you are looking for is called a ledger rod normally they come a eye that has a screw thread in the end. Ebay and carboots are your best bet. some companies still make them but they can be on the expensive side. __________________ Born to fish made to work
