Re: thinkin about getting a new float rod but not sure wot one to get any reccomandat

10lb is a bit heavy for a float fishing rod.
The heaviest float rod that I use is the superb 13ft Drennan MKIV Tench float rod, which is designed for using mono or braid lines between 2lb and 8lb, which I use for Medium to large Tench, Carp, and trotting for Barbel.
Don't let the 'Tench' word throw you as this rod can also handle both large Barbel on rivers and Carp on commercials extremely well. It retails for around £140.

Both Geys and Harrisons do some excellent alternatives or if you want slightly less expensive ones both Fox & Diawa sell good alternatives.
