Re: Swimfeeders there's a section on swimfeeders under the rigs section, shows a basic set up (same as if setting up a running leger) or possibly have a look in carp rigs for other set ups (helicopter rig or similar). good luck withyour session mate __________________ www.mobilespanner1.co.uk

Re: Swimfeeders key to any swimfeeder fishing is to make sure you can get it in the same spot time and time again. that can be the difference of catching some or alot of fish

Re: Swimfeeders Hi Drum You say a small pool – not sure how small is small, but feeders are normally used in large waters where you cannot bait accurately enough with a catty, or strong flowing waters where you need to get bait to the bottom. The below works on what I would call a larger water. I’ve done a very bad drawing to go with this – probably somewhere else as well, but... ![]() Use a open ended swimfeeder with a swivel on it. 1) Thread line through swivel (about 18 inches). 2) Form a loop with feeder inside it & a tie a water knot, trim the loose end. 3) Slide feeder up to knot and tie another water knot below it to make 2 loops both 9 inches in length 4) Cut lower loop by the knot, you now have an 18 inch hooklength & the feeder trapped in a 9inch loop on the main line. You can vary the sizes of loops to whatever you like. Make a couple of practise casts, aiming at a target on the far bank to ensure you can hit the range & direction you want easily, then clip the line at your required length. Fill feeder & chuck out, carefully, important not to chuck too far as line clipped & may get damaged. Do not throw to short you need to hit the same spot each time. Ensure rod & feeder are dead straight behind you so feeder always goes in straight line. As soon as feeder hits the water flick bail arm over and put rod in rest at right angle to target (along bank or close as you can manage) before the feeder has a chance to reach the bottom. Tip should stay pulled round as feeder sinks in an arc then will usually drop back a little as sinking line catches up. Tighten up if necessary. Leave a minute then gentle strike to get rid of groundbait from feeder. Repeat 5, 10, 20 times (depending on venue) to ensure big patch of groundbait in same space. Do NOT use this rig if you are expecting carp, they will snap you up as you are clipped up – great for bream though. The give in your rod should allow you to get a couple of turns on the reel after lifting into them. Another couple of tips... boil your own hemp & save the liquid you boiled them in to mix your groundbait with. Try a worm & red maggot cocktail on the hook. Good Luck. __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:>

Re: Swimfeeders Yeah i know what you mean. I used to get the blender out in the kitchen and add loads of ingridients to make ground bait. Including bread, dog biscuits, luncheon meat, sweetcorn, ground ginger. All sorts, and i must say, it was just as effective as the stuff that you can buy. But i must admit, lazyness got the better of me so i started buying it instead.
