| Re: Seized uptider rod Hi Jason, Daiwa advise, and it works, no heat or lubricants, just twist and pull. It helps if you use rubber gloves and have a second pair of hands to twist while you pull. After seperation a small amount of candle wax on the male spigot is recommended. The emphasis was on small. Whatever you do, NO LUBRICANTS AND NO HEAT. Sticking rods is normally down to moisture, it pays to wipe the spiggot with a dry cloth every time you assemble your rods. Best of luck. | Re: Seized uptider rod I might spend a couple of days on steroids to beef up for that event. I tried twisting and pulling them apart at the time but had to give up. Rubber gloves sounds like an idea as it was simply an inability to grip that hard that stopped me getting them apart.... __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back! |

| Re: Seized uptider rod Hi Jason, It happened to me a few years ago, hence the reason I contacted Daiwa. Let us know how you got on. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club |

| Re: Seized uptider rod A pair of marigolds helped me get sufficient grip to be able to get them apart. Will be using the candle wax trick before I next go out with this rod. :) __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back! |
