New to fishing Hi guys I am quite new to fishing, and i have been using my friends Rod and i have decided to buy my own. I dont want anything expensive but i want a decent one that isnt going to break. I will mainly be float fishing but i may want to do some weight fishing? dont know what its called but i think you know what i mean. The local fishery which i will be using has a weight range of 2oz - 18lb fish so i may need something with somw strength. I have been looking at Feeder Rods and i dont know if this will be suitable for the weight and practicality of Float or weight fishing. If anyone could give me some advice i would be very gratefull. Thanks

Re: New to fishing There are what they call all rounder rods out there which come with two tops, one for float and one for weight. I seen some for around £50. That would get you started.

Re: New to fishing Don't be afraid of going into your local tackle shop. Tell them what you need and your buget. I've never found them un helpful after all their there to make money and they want you to come back and they are fisherman themselves.
