Raw prawns as bait on a pond

Hi all i'm new to this forum, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I have been told that raw prawns are good for big tench, what other species like prawns?

The pond I will be trying prawn on has Tench, Carp, 1 wells catfish, silver bream, bronze bream, pearch, roach, rud and golden orph.

i find that they are mostly good for catching carp, pearch and tench. it is a very good bait and worth trying i mostly catch pearch on it. you should also try spam/luncheonmeat or bread flake

Cheer thanks for that, I would like to get a good size carp, as I have only ever cault 2 one litle tiny thing and another about 5lp, so fingers crossed I'll get a good sized one this weekend.

if you are gunna take prawns you should microwave them for a bit before you go ( about half a min ) it makes there skin tougher so they stay on the hook better

well i went fishing yesterday, used the prawns i had, got loads of bites but didnt end up geting anything out, they were taking the prawn off the hook befor i even got the chance to strike , maybe i should of microwaved the prawns a little longer, but atleast i know for next time.
