Angry Licence Problems

I still have not received my new licence yet, its been 2 weeks now. I emailed them and this is the reply i got:-

"Thank you for buying your new 2009 rod licence. Unfortunately we had some problems with the printing and posting of the licences on the day that you bought yours, we are very sorry for this.

Some customers have not received their licence, others have received multiple copies of a licence or a licence with a different name on it. We have worked with Post Office Ltd, who print and post the rod licences on our behalf, to understand and fix this problem. We are confident that it is an isolated incident and are putting steps in place to ensure it cannot happen again.

To ensure that all customers are in receipt of the correct rod licence we have sent you a new one, please find this enclosed. If you had already received a 2009 rod licence it is now invalid please destroy it, you should use the new one you have been sent.

With the receipt number you have at the moment you are able to fish with this until you do fish with your new licence.

If you have still not received you licence within a week please contact us.

We are very sorry for this issue and any inconvenience it has caused. We hope you enjoy your fishing this season."

How they hope to enclose my licence in an email i don't know, we'll see what happens.

Re: Licence Problems

dont worry mate you can still fish, just take the number they have given you and if challenged by an EA official just tell him the situation and give him the number, that will be sufficient,

Re: Licence Problems

Yep , I haven't had mine yet so have written the reference number I got on last years. I set up a direct debit and have been told that payment will be taken on the 14 april and my license will be sent out then.

This is a government department so we just have to accept they don't know what to do.

All we can hope is that when we call them in a crisis they will turn up.

Re: Licence Problems

After my last email regarding my licence and following thier advise to contact them after a week if i still hadn't received it,this is the reply i received.

Thank you for your e-mail regarding your rod licence.

Please accept our apologies for the delay. The Post Office are hoping to start dealing with the back-log this week. They are currently working on the end of March.

Please be assured that you will receive your rod licence in due course.

As long as you can prove you have paid for your 2009-2010 licence, either by receipt, RL number, or bank/credit card statement, then you can go fishing.

All our bailiffs are aware of the situation

We thank you for your patience in this matter

I know i can go fishing, but thats not the point. This is terrible service and organisation. Whatever was wrong with getting your licence from the post office. I don't care wether its waterproof or not, they go in an anglers mail waterproof wallet thing i got free years ago, they always have. Not that i've ever once been asked to show my licence to anyone in thirty years of fishing.
This change is probably all due to someone not having enough work to do and had to justify their job. Starting spending our money on fishing not needless changes.
There vented my spleen!

Re: Licence Problems

Looks like you ordered yours the same day as I did so hopefully it shouldn't be long now.
