Fishing in West Lothian

Hi all

I am looking to start fishing again after 22yrs away from the sport.
My daughter recently asked me to take her fishing one night after watching Extreme fishing on the TV and I promised i would!!!!!

Im really looking for some advise on where to go as a begginer in West Lothian as I dont drive.
Also any advise would be helpfull on any kind of permits I would require or is there any where that is free to fish such as the river Almond as it runs through Whitburn where I live and Livingston which is near buy

Any help would be greatly appreciated
