| West Cork - Ireland Probably a bit premature….I am off to Ireland – West Cork in September and am looking for anyone with a bit of experience of this part of the world…West Cork close to Bantry Bay is where I am off to for accuracy… I am looking for anything…Good cliff or shore marks for Bass and Pollack. Lakes / reservoirs for Pike...fly for trout and salmon...wrecking trips you name it....If there are fish to be troubled I want some of it.... Thanks |

| Re: West Cork - Ireland Appleman, Not sure if this is any help to you, but my wifes family come from over that way, and you can find some great fishing in and around Kenmare, where they come from. Lovely river with some wonderful fly fishing to be had, as well as being right on the coast you can do some good sea fishing there as well. Might be a bit away from where you are intending to go, but if you find yourself down that way, it's worth a peek. PS, in the town itself there are some fantastic bars, and a particularly good little restaurant come deli called Jams... delicious ! | Re: West Cork - Ireland Hope i caught you on time. West cork is a fantastic place to fish. Was down there a couple of months ago mainly flyfishing and had a great time. For seafishing, i came across a few places on the Beara Pennunisula you should try. Also as mentioned above, Kenmare would be good as well. For a nice little lake, about 10 miles from Bantry is GouganeBarra which was a smashing spot for a bit of flyfishing. Loads of other places you could go as well. Have a blog post here with a bit more information on it for you. Enjoy and tight lines wgsten __________________ http://www.irishflyfisher.ie/ |
