| Re: recommendation Yes audiracer is right Depends how you like to fish - 1 - Like to catch regularly and size does not matter This is what is generally called course fishing . The fish that you will catch are roach , bream , rudd , dace , chub , perch , dace and the list goes on Fishing for these types of fish is light Mainline 1 - 4lb Type of fishing - float fishing / ledgering and pole fishing Rods / Reels / Poles - match rods and reels prices from as little as £10 ( not great but if just trying out might do ) but can go up to £1500 Bait - Generally using maggots which you buy by the pint (comes in lots of colours ) but you can also use bread , hemp , pellets and so on 2 - Specimen fishing ( will involve long days waiting for maybe only one bite ) This is when you target the biggest fish with in the species like Carp Tench Pike - fish can grow upto 50lb + Fishing for these types of fish requires better tackle Mainline – 4 – 15lb Type of fishing – Mainly ledgering and float fishing Rods / Reels – You will generally need good tackle that is designed to handle big fish and hence costs more money £30 - £300 for a rod ect Bait – Depends what you are going for but generally boilies work for most specimen hunters – boilies are round paste pellet which is coloured with sent added so that it smells to attract fish Overall it boils down to if you like to keep busy or enjoy sitting there watching the day go bye __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports Last edited by Fishing Forum Admin; 10-25-2004 at 04:12 PM. |

| Re: recommendation Oh forgot to mention one very important fact that you will need a rod license to fish any fresh water venue - I think it costs £27.00 which you get from the post office Also almost all fishing waters will be controlled by fishing clubs who control the water . This means they keep the banks clear and stock fish into the water if needed Do not be put off by the above because it all makes for better and safer fishing And please do not think you can get away with out paying because you will get caught eventually __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

There's a lot of course species, 1 of my favourite is the carp. These have been stocked in a lot of commercial fisheries now, and are very easy to catch. They give a great fight, and can become very big in weight. If you need any more help with carp fishing, i'll happily help as will all the others. Would write a lot more, but Richard has pretty much covered it all ![]() __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> |
