| Pole kits Hey all i'm looking into buying a pole kit as i want to give it a go, i have been looking at the middy packages the battle zone, rock 'ard and baggin machine on the chapmans site. I don't want to get a cheap one which i would be changing in a few months but i don't want to spend silly money either, so any input would be great. I've joined a lake near to where i live and it just screams pole fishing |

| Re: Pole kits well i expect you will get loads advice from people on this, but hear is my advice, Go for the best you can afford, ask about spares and top kits, there is no point buying apole for £200 when spare sections are £100 each. I think at the moment the Leeda poles and Map poles are the best on the market for value and they hold a good selection of spares. Greenheart has just got the Leeda 16mtr Blue Diamond and spares for this pole £20 each so good value, also look at what type of fishing you intend to do, if you are fishing for carp and tench you need to think about strength, if you going for allrounder then manageabilty must come into play. Its a huge mind field, i would recomending going to your local Tackle shop and see what they have, ask them if you can get the pole out and try it at full length, mind you most modern poles tend be fantastic up around 11 mtrs to 13mtrs then they start to get heavy, unless you are willing to pay mega bucks and unless you fishing and winning matches every week i wouldn't even think about getting a expensive pole. you quite easily get a 14.5 mtr and 16 mtrs bran spanking new for less than £400 and at 11 to 13 mtrs they will be perfect, one more thing make certain that you get as many top sets as you can and a cupping kit. I hope this helps. Regards, steve __________________ Born to fish made to work |
